Im a 21yo male. I weigh 187lbs and im 5'7'' .A month ago i switched from drinking 6-7 dr peppers a day to drinking nothing but water. I stopped eating fast food often. I try not to add table salt to anything, i also cut out little snacks. I eat about 400cal for breakfast and about 500-800 calories for dinner, i dont usually eat lunch but every once and awhile ill have 300cal for lunch.... Is this ok? also would eating lunch help my metabolism stay active until i eat dinner? How much weight could i potentially lose? Before i started all these changes, the highest number i seen on the scale was 198 and i usually weighed 196.xx. Is that good progress for a month?

I am trying to find a good hands on lesson plan on the concept of weight for first graders?

I am teaching summer school and it is first grade math. We are doing measurement this whole week and I would like to touch and do a very basic introduction on weight, however, I cannot find a good lesson plan that will work. Most lessons want you to have a balance scale, problem is, I don't have access to one. I thought about having various objects and having them guess which one would be heavier and then lifting them up to see if they were right, not sure how successful that would be. Black Stools and Stomach pain?

Hello Everybody! For the past 2 months since I started my new job I have had chronic bowel problems. I have disregarded it as me being overstressed however I think now it may be something more serious. The day before yesterday I started having terrible stomach pains in my upper stomach that also radiated to my back. It felt sort of like a muscle cramp in my stomach and it was constant the entire day. It just got worse and worse to the point where I couldn't stand up straight. When i got home from work I noticed that my stools were black and even going to the bathroom didn't releave the pain. Finally I decided to go to the ER. At the Er they tested my stool and said that there was some blood in it. They also tested my blood and said that I had a high white blood cell count. They said they thought it was ulcers but they didn't do any further testing. They just said that according to my blood it doesn't seem to be life threatening and that i should schedule and appt with a gastroenterologist. They gave me some medicine to help with the pain and since then it has been more tolerable even though it still hurts especially during and after eating. My question to yall is, If you've had similar symptoms what was it for you? What kind of testing should I expect? Thank you for your time!

Why can't I speak after vocal rest? ?

There was one day when I had a slight sore throat. I have been having vocal practices, and I disregarded my sore throat and went for vocal practice with my friends and we got high, singing and occassional shouting for about 3 hours. After the practice, I realised that I had lost my voice. It didn't really hurt, but just that my voice couldn't come out much. For the next 5 days, I decided to give my voice a rest, talking only when needed. Initially, my throat didn't hurt, but at the 4th or 5th day, it starts to hurt slightly and my voice turns hoarse and still couldn't really speak up. So at the 5th day, I decided to see the doctor as I was afraid of vocal nodules. The doctor said that it was just vocal cords swallon due to singing with a sore throat. He told me to have vocal rest for 2 days and gave me some anti inflammatory medicine. I have already not spoken a word for the past 3 days, but today, when I tried to speak, my voice still seems to have some difficulty coming out. The voice isn't hoarse anymore, but when I try to speak my normal volume, my throat will hurt slightly. When my vocals aren't moving, it feels perfectly fine. I am gonna take a few more days vocal rest. Does anyone know what's wrong with my vocals? Why does it feel so difficult speaking now? I doubt it's vocal nodules as there isn't any lump in my throat. Is there anyway to speed my recovery? I hope I didn't do some inrepairable damage to my vocals. Can somebody help me please, my voice is very important to me. Thanks in advance.

Causes of excessive menstrating?

My best friend was in a car accident May 19 and since then she hasn't been off her period more than a week at a time. She's also bleeding heavier than normal. The way she wrecked is she was in the fast lane on the highway doing about 60 and someone clipped her in her quarter panel from the next lane over, causing her to spin out of control and hit the center median. When she went to Urgent Care, they told her she had whiplash and a sprained wrist but when she told them she was having sharp pains in her lower abdomen where the seatbelt was they disregarded it. She has a son that's 8 months old (he wasn't in the car with her nor anyone else) so some people told her it's because it hasn't been that long since she had a baby. Well basically I want to know if I have a good ear for music. As I'm learning guitar. I learned the G major scale on the guitar then I went to a friends house he had this south American ukulele ( four stringed mini guitar) on a different guitar tuning. He is a professional musician and tested me to see if I could play the G major scale (pattern 1) on the guitar and I took about 20 secs and figured it out. Do I have a good ear? I went to the ER last night after vomiting from 6am until 10pm (when I went to the ER). I am pregnant, and I am worried baby isn't getting enough nutrients. Is there anything today I can eat to help? I have been paranoid before, lip biting, jumpy, (even if I hear someone coming or they tell me I jump or scream when they come up behind me). Recently it's been getting worse, I've been clumsy, I can't have doors open, I hear and see things, (noises and things moving in the corner of my eye) I'm terrified of the dark and I shake. Worst, I always feel like someones watching me, so breathing feels like there's someone pushing lightly on my chest and I feel like I have to look everywhere at once. When I try to hold a conversation my words get flubbed and sometimes I feel like I'm not in reality and that nothing is real. It's starting to scare me and I think it's more serious than I thought. We were on our way to visit my MIL some 250 miles away from our own house. We were on the motorway and a van in front stopped suddenly. Why do i get so angry after being ignored or abandoned by a close one?

ok so its little things like.. me and my girl will be txtin at night. and if we get into an arguement and mad at eachother she will want me to leave her alone so she can not talk to me and just sleep. (sometimes she lies and says shes gonna sleep) well anyways i will say no dont sleep yet. i dont wanna sleep bein mad at eachother. ill want to fix the situation before we go off to sleep. most the time shell just not text back. and then ill just keep texting but get no reply cause shes still mad. then it makes me so angry so ill start calling and calling. she shares a room with her mom so she cant answer. but it seems i disregard that and just call and call so she'll txt back or maybe to get her angry just cause I feel angry. most the time it works it wont allow her to sleep with her phone steadily ringin and we'll fix the problem but not the point. when she ignores the calls it just gets me more and more angry. i will just call until its ignored then press the call button as soon as my fingers can move. sometimes im left crying cause i dont have the chance to fix our arguement. the main point is that i feel i get angry to the extreme. like i have super intense feelings that i cant control. i feel that if we dont end our night on a good note then i do not want to sleep, do not wanna eat, i even find playing my video games boring at this point. it makes me feel weak when i know im stronger than this. so then ill end up getting angry and leaving a long aggrssive mean text or voicemail. not disrespecting her though or name calling. i wouldnt do that to her.. but ill make her feel bad. the sad thing is about 30 minutes later i wont feel any anger at all anymore and feel like i overreacted maybe pushed it too far. like the depression will just go away in a matter of minutes. and at that point ill feel like 'ok i dont care its nothin to me.' which is how i wanna feel when the situation happens..but instead ill feel intense emotions. am i bipolar.. separation anxiety.? i feel that way cause if i feel shes mad at me i get vulnerable and desperate to talk to her and fix it. that i cant sleep without knowing shes ok. im a scorpio if that matters. it must be a mental thing but i need explanation on whats going on in my head thats causing this. i dont like these intense feelings i dont like feeling emotionally weak. another thing is i have nobody to talk to. making friends is not a problem im popular in my school/neighborhood i have many many friends. but none worthy of talking too for main problems.. i guess yu can say no REAL friends. my mom i cant talk to her like that.. were not emotionally close. she worries about her own relationships more than seeing if im feeling ok. For the nasally singing, I suggest making sure you're singing with you're diaphragm (breath with your stomach and make sure your shoulders aren't moving when you do so), also try opening up the back of your throat (I'm not sure how to explain that one, you just have to experiment) and use a lot of air, and get a private teacher if you care that much about it, one could really help.

I'm moving into serious jazz now after playing for the high school jazz band. I know all my major scales just fine, but while improvising, I find myself going to my teacher, asking what blues scale I can slip in, or just simply what notes work where, instead of looking to actually understand the symbols that represent the chord changes. Now that I'm getting out of a school jazz environment I really want to familiarize myself and actually learn and understand all these new things with jazz. Can anyone help me with a quick and easy way to get started? I was thinking start with Bb scale one week, and get all the alterations of that scale down, then next week move to the Eb and F scales, is that a good Idea? I am being charged with theft. I work as at an extremely busy grocery store. I had a lot of hard personal issues and got lazy scanning items. Flunked out of college... idk what to do?

So i have never really been a good student. I was always failing ( especially math and science classes ) or doing just enough to get by. Im 18, i graduated high school in 2010, i attended a community college for 2 semesters. i flunked first semester, i failed 3 out of my 4 classes, it wasn't was i was use to in high school it was so much harder. i felt really stupid compared to other kids. I became depressed during the end of that semester. I really didn't want to go back but i did , to start over again for the 2nd semester ( on academic probation ) it started off good but it just got harder to handle. I started off with 4 classes, art , math, reading, and writing. i dropped art because i changed my major, and i dropped math because since i have sickle cell anemia im absent.. a lot. and math is just too hard to catch up on for me. and i didn't want to ruin my GPA any further at the moment. So i just had reading and writing, i always do good in reading. but writing i have a hard time in. i really think i flunked it im sure.. that 4 classed ive flunked. So i think they might kick me out and i really don't think i can get financial aid again since i totally wasted the money. MONEY IS AN ISSUE. i dont have money for college. I know how you feel. I'd have the same thoughts about nails on a chalkboard. It's almost like I would taunt myself with it haha. The thing is, you have to stop rewarding your mind by acting when the thought comes. Instead of freaking out or going to your computer or even straining to think of something else, try tackling the thought head on.It will really suck at first (It did for me) but eventually your mind won't make the thought such a big deal because you no longer put an importance on it. Domestic violence legal in fl now?

My girlfriends brother was throwing rocks at her dog (animal abuse) and she told him to stop. Well this angered him so he threw a rock at her and hit her in the leg with it. She threw a rock and hit him in he head. and he chased after her and hit her (domestic violence). After she tried a second time to get away from him, he threw rocks at her (projecting a deadly missile i believe). Also, this happened while he was on probation his second time, one of the charges being for domestic violence (violation of probation). she showed the officer the marks on her, and the officer shrugged it off like it was nothing. The officer also told her it was a family problem and it just needed to be settled by her mom, and that if she would arrest anyone it would be my girlfriend. He has threatened to kill her and my family and me as well as their mom before numerous times. So im assuming domenstic violence is legal in pasco county, FL now, and i am considering beating everyone that is related to me, that i am in a relationship with, that currently lives in my household and anything else pertaining to domestic violence. Why is it that for the past 2.5yrs I have been stalked harassed, abused, assaulted, threatened on an average of once a week, that i have reported all these things & the police do NOTHING. I had to myself take out intervention orders on these 2 ppl (mother & a daughter) for myself & my kids. Only to get on that can only prevent them from talking to us. I have had them extended twice now so obviously the court sees they are in the wrong. But my kids are highly effected by it all, they witnessed the assault when the were only 4 & 6 & have witnessed all other abuse etc too. They fear them & a traumatised sometimes too scared for school as the daughter has a child in my sons class so this makes it hard because they are forever hanging around the classroom which makes my son very uncomfortable. They continue to intimidate which all they have to do is be around for that to happen, the school are hopeless & even when things were set in place to stop them they just disregarded them anyway & the school are too scared to stop them also. 3 mths ago my husband had enough when he witnessed my daughter have a nervous breakdown at school just from them being there. he decided to have a chat with the Grandmother in the main st. it was of course quite heated & he did use the occassional swear word, they also abused him back even though he tried walking away 3 times, the grandmother was trying to get him to hit her by asking him to do it, the daughter was also yelling abuse. she followed him to his ute & pushed him in the back almost making him hit the ground, he swung around with his hand, expecting another hit from her as she was the one who assaulted me, & she was right behind him so the tip of his fingers slightly brushed her hair. she grabbed at her face & pretended to fall to the ground, she is saying that he hit her in the face. To make matters worse her daughter & 2 other ppl are also saying hes done it, of course none of them are saying that my husband was pushed & abused also. A witness across the street saw the push, she went to the police & told them my husband was pushed but the police arent even going to use her statment in court, yet they are taking the word of 3 well known criminals & drug dealers. I dont know how clear I am being in this as there is soooo much more to the events over the past 2.5yrs. I just want to know what I can do, where do we stand legally. He is being charged with offensive behaviour in public which is something that they do an a regualr basis & never get charged so why is it that my husband was defending his children the police arrest him for it. Seriously considering an eating disorder...?

I DONT want to have to deal with anorexia or bulimia, but I think it's impossible for me to lose weight!! For MONTHS, I've tried to lose weight, I always drink enough water, I eat healthy, I exercise daily, and all I see is the scale creep up, pound by pound. It's soo frustrating. I'm a normal weight, I just have some baby fat that I want to get rid of, and I would loove to be skinny. The only time I've seen any weight loss is when I barely ate anything for 3 days, I lost maybe 2 pounds. I just don't know what to do anymore and I'm kind of considering fasting...? Would fasting for 2 days a week help me lose weight?

35 weeks pregnant. Braxton hicks, pressure, fetal movement?

I am 35 weeks pregnant with #2 and for the past 2 weeks I have had nonstop braxton hicks, decreased fetal movement, pressure on my vagina and in my butt...I've been to the hospital 3 times (My OB sent me) to get monitored. They didn't check me to see if I was dialated or anything. They just hooked me up to see if I was having contractions and they got a couple but they said they weren't too close together. But now I get them whenever I walk, I have a horrible pain in the top of my stomach that just started a few days ago (haven't mentioned it to my doc yet because she's just going to send me in to get monitored and I am a stay at home mom currently so I kind of can't get to the hospital right away) but anyway, the pain in the top of my stomach is very painful whenever I am standing or walking. Doesn't matter for how long, just as soon as I stand up it hurts. It hurts to pull my shirts down if they start to come up because it rubs on that spot. But it's not the skin, it hurts on the inside. And I have been feeling more pressure on my vagina and butt and just like tons of pressure on my cervix. The baby has dropped so I know that could contribute to the pressure. But I am SO uncomfortable with all the different pains I've been having. Also whenever I feel the contractions they are about a 7 or 8 on the pain scale for the cramping feeling but they're about a 10 on the pain scale with the pain that goes through my back when I get them. The end of my first pregnancy was no where near like this. I know every pregnancy is different but is this normal?? I feel like all this stuff going on should be enough to just induce me but I don't know if that's just me being tired of pregnancy lol. I was induced a week early with #1 because of major decreased fetal movement. Any advice to relieve any of this or if I could just give in and call my doctor again would be awesome. Thank you!

Hello! I just wanted to see if i could gain any knowledge from others in the air force who may have had the same question and know the answer: ) I just pcs'ed to Dyess AFB and live in a shared dorm room. i share the kitchen and bathroom area with a roomie. i usually do not have an issue sharing space with anybody, but my current pissmate is atrocious. she's notorious for being filthy and driving out other airmen from the other side of the dorm. my main concern is that her boyfriend is living with her 24/7. it's uncomfortable for me because in the middle of the night i might bump into him in the kitchen or the in the bathroom. my second concern is her blatant disregard for cleanliness, she leaves food on the counters and used pots and pans out for days and they wont be cleaned unless she needs them again! the bathroom is it own horror story as well. I've been trying to keep everything clean, and it's just obvious to me she could give a damn. I'm afraid to confront her about it because she is intimidating (she's built to rip phone books in half...) i'm pretty much at my wits end trying to take care of it at the lowest level. what i'm afraid of is that i tell this to dorm management and then they reprimand her and she takes it out on me. it's obvious she doesn't care that she shares this dorm. help!

Help! My Dwarf Meyer Lemon Tree is Losing Tons of Leaves?

I've had my 2-3 year old Dwarf Meyer Lemon tree since winter, and generally have had no problems. There was a brief incident with scale, but that is now under control. The tree has blossomed and now is starting to produce lemons. But about two weeks ago, it started losing leaves like crazy. There are several lemons-to-be on the tree, two about the size of nickels and they seem okay, although some tinier ones have fallen off. There is no apparent cause for the sudden balding. Any ideas? I live in Oregon. Through the cold/rainy season I keep the tree indoors with a special light to make the tree think he is in sunny southern California. I moved him outside earlier this week in an attempt to stop the loss of leaves. So far it seems to be helping. Today I lost only 2 leaves, whereas indoors he was losing around 6 a day. Maybe he just needed some humid outdoor air? I have the tree potted in a soil recommended by my local garden center, mixed with a bit of the shavings that the tree was mailed to me in, as the potting instructions suggested. I don't know how the soil could be the cause of this issue though, since the tree has been in the same mix since November and has done well up until now. Any ideas of what could be causing the loss of leaves? Or suggestions on how to make it stop? Thank you!

Mario Kart ds game flickering screen in sleep mode?

I recently bought a mario kart ds game off ebay. When I put it in my ds system, it played fine, but when I closed the cover to put it in sleep mode, it began making strange clicking sounds. When I went to observe but lifting the lid slightly, I saw that the screens were flickering unnaturally. However, when I opened it completely, it was fine.
