I want to move to Texas?

I really want to move to Texas but with no job and no connections, I don't really know how I'm going to get out there. I live in NYC with my husband and we wanted to move to either Dallas or Houston to start a new life but I don't know how we are going to get new jobs in Texas from NY and we don't even no anyone that live in Texas. So we have no connections. How do you do it? I feel like I can send my resume out a hundred times, they are just going to disregard it and hire a someone that is currently living in Texas. We need a car, a place, but first we need a job. That's most important or we are screwed. What should I do, any suggestions?
