I keep on having these thoughts that send me into slight panic?

I know how you feel. I'd have the same thoughts about nails on a chalkboard. It's almost like I would taunt myself with it haha. The thing is, you have to stop rewarding your mind by acting when the thought comes. Instead of freaking out or going to your computer or even straining to think of something else, try tackling the thought head on.It will really suck at first (It did for me) but eventually your mind won't make the thought such a big deal because you no longer put an importance on it. Realize that the thought isn't actually affecting you at the moment (no one is actually biting a popsicle, it's just a mental image) and should therefore not evoke a response from you. hope this helps =)
