Why is my physical appearance so different in the mirror than in pics and which is the more 'true' image?

I don't know if this is even the right category but maybe there is a scientific explanation for this. When I see my image in any mirror, under any kind of light, I look like I 'think' I look to other people, I realize the imaged is reversed but that is not the issue here. when I see an image of myself taken with a phone or digital camera, especially like a head shot, I look so much older and different than what I see in the mirror (I'm 50ish). When I look in the mirror I look maybe 5 to 10 years younger than what the camera shows. It's not my eyesight either, I have 20/20 vision. It got me to thinking, how do people really see me? Is it more like what the camera shows or is it closer to what I see in the mirror (disregarding the reversed image). What is everyone's opinion or explanation on this?
