How can one learn from mythology and alchemy at the same time? are many symbols, gods similar?

So many people borrowed symbols from so many other people that some are bound to be the same. Religions do it all the time. Alchemy was only a pseudo-science anyway. Large sections of it were borrowed from mythology and alchemists relied on a mixture of science and believe in a whole load of weird things.
